We do not sell your personal information, and we don't use it to serve you ads.
By joining the waitlist or using Alfie, you consent to the uses described here. Using your conversations to improve the service is optional — you can turn it off at any time without losing the core help. You can withdraw consent for optional uses whenever you like (see "Your rights").
Alfie is built never to ask for your passwords, one-time codes, or payment details, and never to walk anyone through anything risky. If a message looks like a scam, Alfie stops and flags it rather than acting on it.
We share personal information only with the service providers who help run Alfie, under agreements that limit how they can use it. These currently include providers such as Supabase (hosting and database), Anthropic (the AI that generates Alfie's replies), Stripe (payments), and a text-messaging provider (to deliver the texts); our waitlist form is handled by Formspree. We may add or change providers as Alfie grows, and will keep this list current.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a person or of the service.
Your information may be stored and processed in Canada and the United States. When information is handled in another country, it's subject to the laws there, including lawful access by courts and authorities.
We keep your information while your account is active and for as long as we need it to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data, except limited records we must keep for legal or billing reasons. We're still finalising exact retention periods and will keep this policy current as we do.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information. No service can promise perfect security, but if a breach happens that creates a real risk of harm to you, we'll notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.
If you join the waitlist, we'll email you about Alfie's launch and progress. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
Alfie is for adults and the households they set up. It isn't directed to children under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
We'll update this policy as Alfie grows, and post the new version here with a new date. If a change is significant, we'll let you know.
